Harivarasanam is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 15 to coincide with the auspicious day of Lord Ayyappa’s Makara Vilakku 2027 (Makara Sankranti). Panorama Studios, celebrated for producing acclaimed and commercially successful films across multiple Indian languages, collaborates with Ajith Vinayaka Films, a banner recognised for delivering content-focused Malayalam cinema, to present the film in theatres.
Combining elements of faith, mystery, and deep human connection, the film aims to deliver a unique cinematic narrative for viewers. Harivarasanam will release in theatres in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi apart from Malayalam. This was confirmed by the makers in a recent poster featuring Saiju Kurup as a pilgrim in Sabarimala along with his on-screen daughter.
Jointly produced by Vinayaka Ajith (under Ajith Vinayaka Films) alongside Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak (under Panorama Studios), Harivarasanam is directed by Rajesh Nair from a script by Ampadhy K. The movie explores the intricate dynamic between religious belief and logical reasoning through a suspenseful, emotionally driven mystery that sets its storytelling apart.
Saiju Kurup headlines the film alongside a key ensemble cast featuring Yogi Babu, Baby Eva, Sithara Vijayan, Sampath Raj, Joy Mathew, Maniyanpilla Raju, Shyamaprasad, Madhupal, T. G. Ravi, and Abhiram. Ranjin Raj composes the soundtrack, with technical support from Project Designer R. Jayachandran, Cinematographer Sajad Kaakku, Editor Ajiesh Edamon, Production Controller Sasi Poduval, Production Designer Rakhil, and Costume Designer Stephy Zaviour. The movie's launch puja took place in Thiruvananthapuram in July. Notably, this marks another Sabarimala-themed film for Saiju Kurup, who previously starred in the 2022 Malayalam blockbuster Malikappuram, which is available to watch on JioHotstar.
